5 Spices to Help with Weight Loss

The article "5 Spices That Can Help You Lose Weight" from Kaboodle, discusses how certain spices can actually help with weight loss.  I don't know about you, but I'm always on the lookout for another aid to help me lose a few pounds.  Especially since I've been feeling under the weather and haven't felt much like exercising but I'll save that for a different post.


So here are the 5 spices recommended to help us fight the bulge.
  1. Cinnamon - One teaspoon of cinnamon a day has shown to help with weight loss by lowering blood sugar, increasing the processing of carbohydrates and lowers bad cholesterol.  But don't think that if a little big helps then a whole bunch will help even more.  Eating too much cinnamon can lead to liver damage.
  2. Cayenne - Cayenne pepper enhances fat and calorie burning.  Sounds like we should have a spicy dish for dinner tonight.
  3. Black Pepper - Freshly ground pepper improves digestion, promotes absorption of nutrients and boosts fat metabolism.  
  4. Mustard Seed - Mustard seed helps boost metabolism and allows you burn more fat faster.  Eat 1 teaspoon of hot mustard can boost your metabolism for several hours.  
  5. Ginger - Ginger is an effective diuretic and also works well for improving the digestion process.  The research is still out but ginger may also increase metabolism.
 Add these spices to healthy meals to help with your weight loss.  If you don't currently have a weight loss plan, learn about diet tips on how to cut fat and calories.

  5. yeah, these spices are known for their benefits of losing weights but when used in cooking, usually they are used with lots of oil, so i think the oil combats with the benefits of these spices.

  10. Some have thought that spices contribute to weight gain, but with the use of right types of spices it can certainly mean a lot of difference.
